What to expect
- Your provider reviews your goals — facial rejuvenation, hair restoration, or both — and confirms that PRP is medically appropriate for you. Most healthy adults are good candidates.
- A small sample of your blood is drawn — similar to a standard lab draw. This takes just a few minutes and is performed by our licensed medical team in a sterile environment.
- Your blood is placed in a centrifuge that spins it to separate the platelet-rich plasma from red blood cells. The result is a concentrated serum of your own growth factors.
- The PRP is applied through microneedling for facial treatments, or injected into the scalp for hair restoration. The process typically takes 30–60 minutes depending on the area.
- Some redness and mild swelling is expected for 24–48 hours. Most patients resume normal activities the following day. Avoid intense sun exposure and active skincare for a few days.
Who this is for

Common questions
- PRP — Platelet-Rich Plasma — is derived from your own blood. A small sample is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the growth factors and platelets. When re-applied through microneedling (for the face) or injected into the scalp (for hair), these growth factors stimulate your body's own regenerative processes — triggering new collagen production, accelerating cell turnover, and strengthening follicles. Because it uses your own biology, rejection risk is essentially zero.
- Yes — PRP uses only your own blood, making it one of the most biocompatible treatments available. The process is similar to a standard blood draw and is performed by our licensed medical team using sterile, single-use equipment. Allergic reactions are extremely rare. Side effects are typically limited to mild redness, swelling, or bruising at the treatment site, which resolves within a few days. PRP has a long, well-documented safety record in both aesthetics and orthopedic medicine.
- For facial rejuvenation, most patients see best results from an initial series of 3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart, followed by maintenance every 6–12 months. For PRP hair restoration, 3–4 sessions are commonly recommended in the first year, with quarterly or biannual maintenance thereafter. Individual response varies — your provider will track your progress and recommend additional sessions based on results.
- Recovery from PRP is minimal. Facial PRP (via microneedling) typically results in 24–48 hours of redness and mild swelling — similar to a sunburn. Scalp PRP may cause mild tenderness or slight swelling at injection sites for 1–2 days. Most patients return to work the next day. We advise avoiding intense sun exposure, saunas, and vigorous exercise for 24–48 hours post-treatment. Full results develop over 4–8 weeks as collagen production responds.
